Resources

Here are some local and national resources to help you care for your pet, find low-cost services, or navigate emergencies.

  • If you lost your pet, start by checking local shelters and posting on social media. You can also create flyers to distribute in your neighborhood and contact local veterinarians.

  • If you found a lost pet, check for identification tags and contact the owner if possible. If the owner cannot be located, consider taking the pet to a local shelter or veterinarian to scan for a microchip.

  • If you see an animal in distress, assess the situation and contact local animal control or a rescue organization for assistance. Do not attempt to handle wild or potentially dangerous animals yourself.

  • To report animal cruelty, contact your local animal control agency or law enforcement. Provide as much detail as possible about the situation and any evidence you may have.
